Dr. Wu is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in primary and revision total joint replacement of the hip and knee. He is dedicated to improving the lives of his patients through providing compassionate and personalized care. Dr. Wu works with each patient to help them achieve their unique health and lifestyle goals, whether this is getting back to sports, returning to work, or being able to live independently. He uses state of the art techniques and technology including robotic and computer navigation-assisted surgery, partial knee replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, and peri-operative rapid-recovery protocols to help patients return to their desired quality of life.
Dr. Wu completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University where he majored in Chemistry and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree (MD) from Harvard Medical School with Honors Distinction, and then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Duke University. He then completed his fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, which has been ranked as the #1 Hospital in the Nation by US News and World Report and #1 in the World by Newsweek. There, he gained expertise in primary and revision hip and knee reconstruction and had the privilege of working with world-renowned hip and knee replacement specialists.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Wu is very involved in clinical research. This allows him to provide the most evidence-based and up-to-date treatments for his patients, while also advancing the field of adult reconstruction. He has published numerous articles, abstracts, and textbook chapters on optimizing outcomes in joint replacement surgery, and has presented his work at orthopedic meetings around the country.
Dr. Wu is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
Outside of work, Dr. Wu enjoys weightlifting, martial arts, skiing, fishing, spending time with his family, and traveling. He feels incredibly privileged to have the opportunity to help patients get back to their desired activities and lifestyle.
